The 3rd Children’s Special Olympics of Xi’an will be held in May 28, 2011. In order to ensure athletes’ health and safety, Xi'an Philanthropic Child Abuse Prevention & Aid Centre has provided a free physical examination to more than 80 children who will take part in the Special Olympics. Special Olympics, suited for the learning-disabled, is the only sports competition approved by the IOC to use the title of Olympics. All the athletes are handicapped children and some of them suffer from epilepsy, heart disease and visual and auditory dysfunction. With the efforts of the center, Shaanxi Friendship Hospital provides detailed health evaluation to 82 young athletes and valuable suggestions to sponsor of the competition. We wish the 3rd Children’s Special Olympics of Xi’an a complete success.
