Child injury and abuse prevention forum was held at Xi’an child abuse prevention center on November 16th. The forum was hosted by Hong guang Li who is the head of Shaanxi health department, and together with the prime president and experts from Xi’an maternal and child health care center, psychologists, pediatricians, news and media journalists, students and members from NGO organization.
Forum members learnt the situation of child abuse in china and ways to prevent child abuse, they addressed that we should educate children in a scientific way instead of punishment. Meanwhile, they made a deep discussion about child abuse prevention, especially the awareness of child abuse prevention. Lawyers made some advises and measures about child abuse from law perspective. Experts on child care, doctors and media members made many suggestions from diverse perspectives. For example, notifying children about their private parts by telling them why they should w ear swimwear, appealing to the appropriate ways to educate children, broadcasting the related knowledge through the TV and radio program.
The forum made a positive effect, the media members from hsw news, Xi’an evening news, Xi’an daily expressed their point that they would appeal the whole public to focus on the problem of child abuse prevention.
